When the Power Goes Out

Large portions of Ukraine now receive electricity only occasionally. In many cities, most people live in apartment buildings with no alternative source of heat. When the power shuts off, there is no backup. No furnace. No space heaters. No way to cook.

With winter temperatures dropping into the single digits and snow covering the ground, survival becomes a daily concern.

Churches across Ukraine are stepping into that gap.

They are finding those in need and providing warm meals, food packages, and generators to recharge phones and battery banks. For many families, a charged phone means access to information, contact with loved ones, and warnings during air raids.

Families receive not only hot food for the day, but additional food to carry them through the days ahead.

Serving From Cherkasy

Our warehouse in Cherkasy is currently feeding thousands of displaced Ukrainians every month. Food is sorted, packed, and sent out regularly to communities that have few other options. Demand is so high we have added extra days that food is available at the warehouse.

But getting that food to people is not easy.

Pastors and volunteers drive long distances on snow-covered roads, often under the sound of drones overhead. Roads are rough, vehicles frequently break down, and repairs are constant. Still, they continue to go.

Because people are waiting.

How You Can Help

This work continues because of prayer, faithful giving, and those willing to act.

  • Pray for safety on the roads and protection from drone strikes.

  • Pray for strength for pastors who are exhausted but continue serving.

  • Pray for provision as winter needs remain high.

If you would like to support this work financially, your giving helps provide food, fuel, vehicle repairs, and generators for families who have no other way to stay warm and connected.

Thank you for standing with us and with the churches serving on the front lines.
