Headed into recently occupied territory

Picking up refugees from the front lines

Hi, I’m Jenz Yoder

Love Sent was born out of need and a calling.

From a young age, I’ve always been drawn to helping others. As I grew older I started to understand that the Bible made it very clear we are to help the less fortunate.

Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”

When we give up what we want to follow what God wants we are truly worshiping Him.

In my late teens and early twenties, I lived in Ukraine, working in humanitarian aid. After returning to the United States, I got married, and my wife and I volunteered six months coordinating teams to rebuild flooded homes in West Virginia and Texas. As our sons grew older, I began taking them with me to serve in disaster relief efforts, wanting them to learn how to respond to needs.

When the full invasion of Ukraine began in 2022, I felt God nudging me to ask a simple question: Is there a way I can help?

That question has now led to a dozen trips back into Ukraine.

Over time, God has allowed me to help connect needs with those willing to meet them. I’ve seen Him work through food trucks serving near the front lines, warehouses distributing aid to thousands, water trucks delivering relief after dams were destroyed, and battery systems installed to keep churches operating during blackouts.

I don’t see myself as someone with a special skill set. If anything, my greatest strength is simply not giving up when I believe God is asking me to do something.

Along the way, I’ve witnessed God’s protection in ways that are hard to ignore. I’ve been on my way to buildings that were struck just before I arrived. I’ve left places moments before missiles hit. I’ve lost count of the buildings I’ve been in that have since been destroyed.

This isn’t something I share to boast, and I’m most definitely not an adrenaline junkie.

It’s simply a reminder: when God calls, He also protects.

And when my time comes, I am ready.

My Creator has a plan for me that only He fully understands, and my hope is simply to follow it faithfully—one step at a time.
